Cho Chu--Yong

Abstract
This study uses the term "Twilight" to represent one part of the elderly`s life and the purpose of this study is to develop an understanding of previous lifestyles, previous values regarding love, current living expenses and cohabitation among elderly involved in twilight cohabitation through intervies. Furthermore, this study carries out actual comparison between the life among elderly in the past and the current day through real cases in order to propose rational policies and practical implications accordingly. Study results are as follows. from the perspective of sex and twilight cohabitation, it could be seen that the elderly had relatively active sex lives. There are cases who are very sexually active but also cases where the couple had difficulty of having a normal sexual relationship due to disease or old age and thus continued conjugal relations through other forms of physical affection. Policy proposals and practical implications based on these results are as follows. First, as has been seen in the interview results, there is a need for a detailed and well-planned policy for good sex lives among the elderly. Second, in case elderly are left alone after twilight cohabitation, measures such as pension partition, inheritance rights and many more are required. Third, as the social perception towards twilight cohabitation is a problem, our society needs to accept that with the advent of the aged society, some elderly may live with one another having reached an agreement based on their needs and capabilities.
